Monthly Bookkeeping in Knoxville, TN
Every month your transactions get categorised, your accounts get reconciled against the bank, and you get a set of statements you can actually read. No shoebox of receipts in April.
What you get every month
We pull in your transactions, categorise them properly, and reconcile every account against the bank and card statements so the books match reality rather than approximately resembling it. Then you get three reports: profit and loss, balance sheet, and a cash summary.
The reports are the part most owners actually care about, so we keep them in plain language. If your margin moved, we say why. If a category jumped, we flag it before it becomes a surprise. You should never have to interpret your own bookkeeping.
Who this suits
This works best for a business past the point where a spreadsheet is honest about what happened — usually somewhere around consistent monthly revenue, a business bank account, and more transactions than you want to think about on a Sunday evening.
Contractors, salons, shops, restaurants and service businesses around Knox and Sevier County all run on the same basic set of books. What changes is the volume and the categories, and that is what the first conversation is for.
Working alongside your tax preparer
We are bookkeepers, not a CPA firm, and we are straightforward about that line. What we do is hand your tax preparer a clean, reconciled set of books at year end so their work is faster and cheaper, and so nobody is reconstructing twelve months of activity in March.
If you already have a CPA, we will work directly with them. If you do not, we can tell you what to look for in one.
Talk it through first
Every set of books is a little different. Tell us what you have and what is going wrong with it, and we will tell you plainly whether this is the right service for you. The first fifteen minutes are free and there is no pressure at the end of them.

Questions we get about monthly bookkeeping
How much does monthly bookkeeping cost?
It depends on transaction volume and how many accounts you run, so we quote after looking at your actual books rather than printing a number that would not apply to you. The free 15-minute audit is where that gets sorted.
Do I have to use QuickBooks Online?
It is what we work in day to day and what we recommend, because it makes handing information to your tax preparer straightforward. If you are on something else, tell us what and we will say honestly whether we can work with it.
What do you need from me each month?
Bank and card access in read-only form, plus receipts for anything that is not obvious from the statement line. Most clients settle into sending a handful of things a month and nothing else.
What if my books are already behind?
Then start with catch-up and clean-up instead. Getting current comes first — monthly bookkeeping on top of a messy foundation just preserves the mess.
